EU ESG regulations, compliance, and regulatory oversight in sustainable finance

Sustainability Unlocked is not a conference.

It is a hands-on, conversation-led summit designed to help sustainability and risk leaders cut through complexity and leave with ideas they can actually use.

Join us on 12 March 2026 in Central London for an afternoon of practical insight, peer-led discussion, and an interactive keynote from Jeffrey Oatham, Chief Sustainability Officer at DTEK, one of Europe’s most critical energy businesses.

2026 is shaping up to be a pivotal year. Regulation, stakeholder expectations and data demands are accelerating. At the same time, the value of sustainability is being questioned in some quarters. This summit is a chance to step back, compare notes with peers, and hear directly from a leader driving sustainability in one of the most high-stakes operating environments in Europe.

What to expect

A new format for 2026

This is a complete refresh of how KEY ESG runs summits. Fewer presentations, more interaction. Every session is built around real challenges, not theory, with space to ask honest questions and share what is genuinely working.

The afternoon programme opens with a keynote from Jeffrey Oatham, Chief Sustainability Officer at DTEK, followed by interactive roundtable discussions, a product session exploring AI and our platform roadmap, customer voices and drinks and awards to close the day.

Agenda

Keynote: Jeffrey Oatham, Chief Sustainability Officer, DTEK

Jeffrey leads sustainability at DTEK, one of Europe's most critical energy businesses and a KEY ESG customer. His perspective is grounded in real operational experience; what works, what does not, and what it actually takes to drive change under pressure.

In this interactive keynote, Jeffrey will share what it looks like to pursue sustainability ambitions while operating in a country at war, where power outages are daily realities and short-term survival and long-term strategy have to coexist. He will explore how DTEK frames sustainability as resilience over the long term, why the European regulatory landscape is getting smarter rather than pulling back, and what it means to keep driving value from sustainability when the pressure to deprioritise is at its highest. Expect an honest, hopeful perspective on why sustainability is not going anywhere and why now is the time to push forward, not retreat.

Live demo: How AI is reshaping sustainability workflows

Led by KEY ESG's product and technology team, this hands-on session puts AI front and centre. See how leading sustainability teams are using AI to cut through manual reporting, surface insights from complex data sets, and accelerate performance improvement, all while maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and control that governance demands. You will also get a first look at what is coming next on the KEY ESG platform.

Fireside Q&A: Jane Shaw, ESG Consultant to Egeria

Jane brings a private equity perspective to the sustainability and risk conversation. At Egeria, she works closely with portfolio companies to translate sustainability ambition into measurable performance, balancing investor expectations, regulatory demands, and commercial reality.

In this interactive session, Jane will explore what sustainability looks like through an investor lens: how value is assessed, where risk is most often underestimated, and what separates credible programmes from surface-level compliance. She will share how Egeria approaches sustainability across its portfolio, how regulation is influencing investment decisions, and why resilience and performance are increasingly inseparable. Expect a practical, commercially grounded discussion on what it takes to make sustainability meaningful in a private equity context, and what leadership teams need to get right to stay ahead.

Interactive roundtables

Facilitated roundtable sessions give you the opportunity to dig into the challenges that matter most, from turning sustainability ambition into operational reality, to managing risk and regulation without slowing the business. These are peer-led, practical discussions designed so you leave with ideas you can take back to your organisation.

Drinks and awards

As the formal programme concludes, the summit transitions into an evening of drinks, networking, and our customer awards. This is an opportunity to continue conversations, strengthen relationships, and connect with peers in a relaxed setting.

Sustainability Unlocked is an invite-only event. To protect the quality of discussion, attendance is limited to senior leaders in sustainability, risk, finance, and private equity.

To request an invitation, complete the form below and our team will be in touch to confirm your place.
